4 Beers and a Side present: Phoenix Beer Co
As a beer enthusiast in Arizona, I have always been looking for unique beers and food to match.
For the 1st Page 38 News beer blog, we will be visiting Phoenix Beer Co. situated lakeside in central Scottsdale. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the views, with misters keeping us cool in early summer.
SIDE
Our featured side dish for today is the PBC Fried Pickles with panko breading and their jalapeno ranch dressing, do not forget the ranch dressing! This came out hot and was a great side dish to soak up the beer we are about to drink.
4 BEERS
While we devoured the deep-fried pickles, our server brought out a 4-oz beer flight with:
– Raspberry White Chocolate (Seasonal) (Sonoran Brewery)
– Oats Hazy IPA (New) (Phoenix Beer Co)
– Sunset Sour (Flagship) (Phoenix Beer Co)
– Hefeweizen (Seasonal) (Phoenix Beer Co)
The Raspberry White Chocolate Ale is amazing. The White Chocolate Ale by Sonoran has been a staple for 2 decades, the Raspberry takes it over the top. Not too sweet, you can drink more than one of these beers.
The Howlin Oats Hazy IPA is dry hopped with Cashmere and Mosaic hops; with less bitterness and a hazy-smooth oat finish that pairs well together.
Sunset Sour has been a flagship beer since 2019 and remains one of the highest-selling beers. It’s my wife’s favorite beer here. Not too sour, and the right amount of sweetness, makes this a good summer beer to watch the sunset over Lake Margherite.
Another surprise for the day was their seasonal Hefeweizen, with strong notes of clove and banana. It felt like it was mid-October drinking this beer.

Since opening in 2019, Phoenix Beer Co has expanded its beer selection with constantly rotating seasonal beers. They also have a To-Go fridge with their flagship beers and a few seasonals as well.
