Rise of Conservative Parody News

Not necessarily funny, or the news

Since the inception of Page38News in April of this year, new websites emerged at the same time touting their conservative-breaking news. They seem to use the same formula; wait until a major story breaks and exaggerate the numbers or create a plausible scenario based on recent events. This instantly makes any reader associated with it look like foolish, conspiracy theorists who spread misinformation. Then, you can go back into their past and affect their future by saying “don’t vote for this person or attend their business, they spread fake news.”

Back in 2017,  PolitiFact looked into a website called lastlineofdefense.com and found that Christopher Blair, a middle-aged anti-conservative was behind it. Christopher’s alias, Busta Troll, promoted his brand of news online and agitated conservative websites in the process. He soon became the King of Conservative-Parody-News.

Real Raw News made the headlines in 2020 with “Trump Arrests Fauci” and “The US Military Arrests Hunter Biden.” Another investigation by PolitiFact revealed Michael Baxter, the author, did NOT like MAGA voters and was out to embarrass Trump supporters.

Is a new trend developing?

Parody News

On April 6th, 2023, a new conservative website called TopNewsz36.com posted two articles that Bud Light sales are down 80% and Anheuser-Busch fired their entire marketing department. This was in response to the public outcry from the transgender Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light campaign that started on April 1st, 2023. These stories were picked up by a conservative-parody news organization called Patriot Party Press and ended up, unknowingly, in the social media feed of many prominent conservatives. Eventually, anyone who: posted, replied, liked, or touched the story in any fashion was fact-checked.

The first article for TopNewsz36 was on April 4th, 2023, and within the next 2 days, 28 additional stories ranging from Restaurant Owner is Asked To Remove “Controversial” Sign from His Window to 3 Men Surround 100-Year-Old Elderly Couple, But They Had No Clue That The Cops Were Recording.

Also on April 6th, 2023, Snopes posted their version fact-checking the fired marketing department article, stating that Patriot Party Press is a satirical site. Even though the story originated with Top Newsz36.com and was vaguely referenced, they concluded the article is a parody on the same day the article was posted.

Coincidence?

On June 16th, 2023 a new conservative website called Dunning-Kruger-Times dropped an article indicating that Garth Brook’s new restaurant was in a dire financial situation due to losing multiple investors. This story was in response to Garth’s statement released on June 12th, 2023 “Our thing is this, if you (are let) into this house, love one another. If you’re an a-hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”

His restaurant is named Friends in Low Places Bar & Honey-Tonk in Nashville, Tennessee, and has yet to open. Although, you can purchase the merchandise associated with it.

Ever hear of the Dunning-Kruger Effect?

According to PsychologicalToday, “The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.”

Christopher Blair’s newest website, Dunning-Kruger-Times, has multiple articles focusing on primarily LGBTQ+ issues and continues to post new material.

Also on June 16th, 2023, Snopes posted their version fact-checking “Garth Brooks Cancels His Bar’s Grand Opening After Investors Bail Out article stating Dunning-Kruger-Press is also a satirical site.

Coincidence?

Conservative celebrities, like Antonio Sabato Jr, fell the June 16th, 2023 ruse however he did not delete his tweet.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted an article on June 25th, 2023, about a Country Music Concert that never existed, and that Garth Brooks was booted out after he told fans they are “a-holes.” The Texas Governor was instantly torched on Twitter and his tweet ended up being deleted bin.

Christopher Blair websites

Patriot Party Press = Satire/fake news run by Christopher Blair

TopnewsZ36.com = Satire/fake news run by, or aligned with, Christopher Blair

Dunning-Kruger-Times.com = Satire/fake news run by Christopher Blair

Snopes fact-checks these stories the day they are posted, this indicates they are coordinating their efforts to discredit conservatives who:

-Read their articles

-Post their articles

-Comment on their articles

-Retweet their articles

-Like their articles

Do not fall for an easy headline.

Update: June 27th, 2023 Christopher Blair created ANOTHER website called www.freedomfictions.com
